Meet our Instructor: Andy Evansen

Andy began painting watercolors in the mid 1990s

His work gained recognition after winning an international watercolor competition through American Artist magazine, appearing on their cover in 2005. He’s been featured in numerous other publications since

He has become a sought-after workshop instructor who paints and teaches internationally.

He became a signature member of the prestigious Plein Air Painters of America (PAPA) in 2012 and served as their President from 2015-2017.
-
His paintings have won numerous awards, including the Bronze and High Winds Medals from the American Watercolor Society, and he was their demonstration artist for the 2018 Exhibition.

His love of painting on location also led to him being a featured presenter at the 2014 and 2016 Plein Air Conventions and inclusion in the 2017 Qingdao International Masters Watercolor Plein Air Event.

DAY 1
​WORKSHOP PARTICIPANTS
Transfer from New Delhi to Umaid Palace, Dausa, or from Jaipur Airport by cab. Check-in into Hotel Umaid Palace. Welcome drinks & introductions followed by dinner.

DAY 4
​WORKSHOP PARTICIPANTS
Post breakfast Studio Session with Andy to learn some more master watercolor fundamentals! After lunch, Sight-seeing and painting session at the famous, Albert Hall and Birla Mandir. Dinner at a lovely restaurant in Jaipur to savour Indian cusine.
NON-PAINTING PARTNERS
Sight seeing at the famous Albest Hall, Birla Mandir, Patrika Gate. Post lunch you will be attending an amazing Block Printing Workshop; Learn the famous textile hand printing technique! Dinner at a restaurant with the workshop group!
DAY 7

A full day exploration of Agra's marvels including the Taj Mahal. Lunch and some shopping followed by an evening session with Andy. Dinner at hotel.

DAY 2
​WORKSHOP PARTICIPANTS
Post breakfast Studio Immersive learning with our Art Instructor, Andy Evansen. where he will teach the fundamentals in his style. Lunch, followed by plein air session at Abhaneri Stepwells. Followed by relaxation with local music performance and dinner in Hotel.
NON-PAINTING PARTNERS
Post breakfast Sight-seeing at Bhangarh Fort/ Daulagarh Fort. Lunch, followed by sight-seeing at Abhineri Stepwells. Later enjoy local music performances and Dinner at the Hotel.
DAY 5
​WORKSHOP PARTICIPANTS
Post breakfast explore Jaipur’s vibrant cultural heritage during a guided walking tour. Enjoy lessons from Andy during this heritage walk from some very beautiful spots known only to locals. Post lunch participants will have the opportunity to shop in the famous Babu market. The evening ends with an exciting trip to the famous Chokhi Dhani for some authentic rajasthani culture and food.

Post breakfast Sight-seeing at the historical city center of Jaipur. Explore Hawa Mahal, Jantar Mantar, City Palace and more. Post lunch participants will have the opportunity to shop in the famous Babu market. The evening ends with an exciting trip to the famous Chokhi Dhani for some authentic rajasthani culture and food.
DAY 8
​WORKSHOP PARTICIPANTS
Full day studio session with breaks for tea and lunch. Andy will give feedback and critique to all the participants. Q and A session and a display of all the works in the evening. Followed by Gift and certificate distribution. Enjoy a fun evening with your new friends as we bid adieu, enjoy drinks and bollywood music, dancing and farewell dinner.
NON-PAINTING PARTNERS
After breakfast take a Mughal Heritage walk, explore the Taj museum and the Tomb of Itimad-ud-Daula. Post lunch, some free time to all to shop or rest. In the evening join the artist group for their display of artworks. Enjoy a fun evening with your new friends as we bid adieu, enjoy drinks and bollywood music, dancing and farewell dinner.

Early breakfast and check out. Full day plein air, demos and sight-seeing at the fabulous Amber Fort and Jalmahal. Check in to Hotel Grand Uniara, Jaipur followed by Dinner
NON-PAINTING PARTNERS
Full day sight-seeing at Amber Fort, Nahajgarh Fort, Jalmahal. Post lunch you get to attend a workshop and learn all about the famous Blue Pottery. Later check into Hotel Grand Uniara, followed by dinner.
DAY 6

Early check out from Hotel and travel by coach to Agra. On the way we stop at Fatehpur Sikri to paint and marvel at the architechtural marvels! Check in Hotel Mercure/Radisson at Agra followed by Dinner.

Tuition (for workshop attendees only)
40+ hours of tuition over 7 days by Andy Evansen for workshop attendees. There will be a balance of in-door as well as plein-air sessions throughout the tour. Last day will include a Q&A and interactive session.

All meals included, unless not mentioned in Itinerary. The food will be a range of Indian and western food with options for special diets. Tea/ Coffee/Snacks will be available during plein-air & studio sessions. A glass of wine will be served with dinner.
Entrance fees & workshops
Entrance fees to all monuments as per itinerary are included. Historic walks for everyone & local art workshops like blue pottery etc for non-painting partners.
